I got the idea for this post after having the worst cheat weekend ever! Trying to maintain a healthy diet is difficult (like really difficult) With every isle you turn down there are biscuits, chocolates and crisps screaming to buy them! Not to mention the cakes and pastries in the bakery section! If you’re lucky and have the will power of an ox you may be able to avoid temptation, but when your hungry or just really fancy a treat you should!
Now i’m not saying every time you crave a certain food you should grab the chance as soon as possible but you should allow treats every now and again. I tend to find that by being too strict and not allowing any treats means you’re good for a short while until your will power finally gives out and you end up binge eating for days! (a bit like me this weekend!) Giving yourself a treat every now and again stops the binge eating and means your more likely to stay on track!
Sometimes even just having a little something of what you’re craving is enough to take the temptation away (for me hot chocolate tends to do the trick) If your trying to maintain/loose weight having a calorie deficit means you’ve got a few extra calories spare! I’ll be trying to cook some low calorie/healthy treats and hopefully (if i don’t burn them) I’ll be reviewing some of my favourites!!
